Hiking and nature trails in Alūksne region
Hiking is more than just traveling. These are challenges to climb the steepest castle mound in Latvia, receiving an award for it – scenic views in unaccustomed nature in the Protected Landscape Area “Veclaicene”. It is a diverse landscape very close to Alūksne city center, which is provided by walks through “Ezertaka” and Temple Hill Park.
It is an opportunity to hear nature in silence and to be a part of it and to love it.
Prepare comfortable shoes and a picnic bag, choose one of the Nature Trails and go hiking!
Attention! Due to storm damage and fallen trees, the Nature Trails in Veclaicene are currently partially accessible or inaccessible, while the Druski Castle Mound Nature Trail is NOT accessible!
