Sports and recreation centre “Mežinieki”

For those, who choose to sport in the fresh air, and are lovers of an active and healthy lifestyle, are invited in Sport centre “Mežinieki” – only 2 kilometers from the city of Alūksne! The territory is located in a park-like forest of hundred-year-old trees. It has a pronounced terrain, swamps, trails and a network of asphalt roads.

In the winter season enjoy healthy and exiting skiing in “Mežinieki”! Home tracks of the best European biathlete Andrejs Rastorgujevs are available here! Good quality natural snow ski trails in free style in 1 km, 2 km, 3 km and 5 km laps challenge, excite and allow you to feel satisfied and strong in spirit. The lighting of the track in a 3 km circle will be on Monday- Friday from dusk to 9:00 p.m. Because of Alūksne climate and location – in the Vidzeme highlands, there are trails with natural snow!

In the summer season this is a great place for relaxing jogging, asphalt roads are suitable for roller skiing, cycling or just walking in the woods.

All-season Disc Golf Course with 9-disc carts is available here. They are located in the area in such a way as to preserve the nature there, as well as to provide a comfortable disc golf game for both beginners and experts. Discs of Disc golfs are available free of charge at the Alūksne Tourism information centre by prior arrangement.

There is a large parking lot for visitors, it is possible to leave clothes in the dressing room using lockers.
The guest house “Paideri” nearby is easily accessible.
