Veclaicenes kūkins Veclaicene cake is a delicacy of Daina Vītuma from Aluksne, who is baked by family ladies for at least the fourth generation. In its softness, it includes the embrace of the surrounding nature and the temperament of the Malenians. Kūkins is a story about the friendship between Malenians and Estonians here, about the border posts surrounded by landscape values and about a place that is amazing in its naturalness. In order for everyone to be able to experience this special taste of Veclaicene, Daina shared the recipe with the local cafe owners, who also offer this delicacy in their menus.
