Veclaicene Orthodox Church

As Veclaicene is geographically located on the main trade routes between Russia and Latvia, this place has long been inhabited by people of different nationalities, including Russians and Estonians. The Virgin Shelter Orthodox church in Veclaicene was built in 1892. The patron of the church is St.John of Kronstadt. The building made of boulders and red bricks has survived the wars.
