Drusku Mound and Drusku Castle mound

It is always worth climbing the steep Drusku Mound to enjoy the view of the surrounding highlands and the highest mountain in the Baltics – Munamägi. At the top of the hill, there is a panoramic viewing stand that will help you identify the highest peaks in Latvia and Estonia.

Continuing along the trail, you will reach the steepest castle mound in Latvia – Drusku Castle Mound, about which researcher Ernests Brastiņš wrote: “The southern side of this castle mound has a roof slope (45°) and drops down to the lake in a 90 m cliff. This is the only cliff of its kind, and its grandeur amazes every visitor.”
