Alūksnes velotrack

The Active Recreation Park with two types of cycle tracks, opening in June 2023, is suitable for cyclists, skaters, skateboarders and other active recreation and sports enthusiasts of all ages and abilities.

The park consists of two asphalt cycle tracks pump track and “BTA velozinis” cycle track. The largest asphalt cycle track is designed for racing and speed training. The shortest freestyle pump track – a freestyle asphalt bike track – with artwork by graffiti artist Vour, is enhanced with innovative freestyle elements for performing tricks.

The Alūksne freestyle pump track is one of the first 10 asphalt cycle tracks of its kind in the world – a great achievement for the development of Latvia’s active recreation infrastructure. The track consists of various elements that simulate obstacles, teach young cyclists how to overcome them and help them learn cycling skills.

The track gives riders of all ages and abilities the chance to express themselves, whatever their level of fitness.

The Active Park has a shelter, benches, waste bins, toilets, a drinking water tap, lighting and video cameras.
