Technology and art space "Elevators"
The Elevators Technology and Art Space is a place where history, technology, and art meet. It is located in a historic grain elevator building in Alūksne, which in itself is an important piece of industrial heritage and creates a special atmosphere for every visitor.
On three floors of the building, you can see an extensive collection of retro cars, which reflect different eras of automotive engineering and allow you to get to know the development of historical vehicles. Along with cars, other historical technology and household items are also exhibited, which tell the story of people’s everyday lives and the development of technology in different times.
A special place in the exhibition is dedicated to the Alūksne region. One of the floors is set up as an exhibition, where every item is related to Alūksne and its surroundings.
“Elevators” is not just a technical museum – it is also an art space. The exhibition is complemented by the artwork of local resident Teodors Paulovics and paintings by artist Herberts Ernests Siliņš, which give the environment a special atmosphere and allow visitors to enjoy both technical and artistic heritage in one place.
