Cycling route Nr. 129 “Around Lake Alūksne”

This is a 22 km cycling challenge around Latvia’s 11th largest lake—a lake distinguished by its picturesque scenery, legendary tales, and four islands: Hat island (Cepurīte), Garā sala, Tīklu sala, and the largest of them all, Castle island (Pilssala). Throughout the ride, and in any season, you can admire the natural beauty, observe the birds that frequent Lake Alūksne, and take in the cultural and historical heritage.
